THIS IS CRYSTEL'S WAITING ROOM
Crystel Dix is the Clinical Director for Autism Adelaide, with teaching and personal experience she is passionate about disability supports.
As Behaviour Support Practitioner with Autism Adelaide, Crystel has made it her focus to support individuals with disabilities. Her struggles with a non-verbal autistic son have given her insurmountable knowledge from years of lived experience living and dealing with daily challenges when loving and caring for an autistic child.
Inspired by her mother to nurture, protect and mentor young children in a positive and caring environment, Crystel chose early childhood as a career path after working in the Royal Adelaide child care centre and soon becoming a team leader of the toddler room. From there she elected to teach disadvantaged children working in special needs schools.
Pausing to raise her own family, Crystel realised even more that families within the autism community required far more support than they currently received. Her own experience raising a child with austism highlighted the plights families face when asking for help.
As Behaviour Support Practitioner with Autism Adelaide, Crystel intends to change the way supports for the disabled are structured. Her goal is to focus on delivering premium support, ensuring a better outcome and a healthier wellness outcome for both the client and their family.
